Alternatives For Feather Hair Extensions

Feather hair extensions are cool accessories that add a trendy style to your hair. However, the process of making one is quite brutal as it involves killing lots of feathered animals such as pheasants, roosters, ostriches, peacocks and ducks. The feathers of these animals are to be processed and turned into a trendy hair accessory. As much as I love feather hair extensions, I disagree with its production. If we take advantage of other resources then we don't have to sort into killing these poor animals simply to supply the demand of the society.

I visited a fashion shop once and asked the teller if they have hair extensions which doesn’t come from animals. To my surprise, there are lots of feather hair extensions which are made from synthetic materials. They are as good as the real feather extension, and if given proper care, it can last longer than original extensions. What I like most about synthetic feather extensions is that it is available in a large array of colors. Most common colors include shades of pink, orange hues, dark blue and purple; basically, there's a lot of colors to choose from.

Unlike genuine feather hair extensions, synthetic hair extensions are more affordable and available. Most of the stores are starting to focus on selling synthetic ones because it is available in large number of stocks unlike the limited feather hair extensions. When you visit online shops, you can see lots of stores that sell these products at a wholesale rate. I personally like the promos offered by various stores where you can get lesser price when you purchase at least 200 packs.

A feather extension is very easy to install. You can attach it to easily by grabbing some strands of hair where you will be attaching the extension. Make sure that the feather extension and the hair is about the same quantity. I would also prefer placing the extension not too far or close to the scalp as it can result to bad image. Also try to maintain your hair by placing shampoo and curling it if necessary. In my case, I use a blow dry every time I take a bath to dry up the hair quick.

So the next time you think of feather hair extensions, think of synthetic products. They are more affordable and much more humane. You not only save money, you also save the lives of poor animals that are used for these products. Besides, there are many cheap alternatives to expensive hair extensions. For instance, you can cut ribbons into thin strips and use it as alternative.
